The main raw materials of dry process sodium silicate production are soda ash and quartz sand. The process is batching, firing and melting.
Process description
1. Batching: batching can be divided into manual batching and automatic batching. Manual batching is manually weighing the quartz sand and soda ash according to the proportion of the formula, then put into the furnace to react through lifter. Automatic batching is automatically weighing the quartz sand and soda ash, then automatically put into the furnace to react through loader.
2. Firing: after the materials are fed into the furnace, the chemical reaction is occurred at the high temperature of 1350-1450℃. The molten sodium silicate form glassy solid lumps by air cooling or water cooling. Finished products are sent to warehouses or stacked or cooled to normal temperature. The regenerative preheater is used in the design of the reflector. The air and coal gas can be separately preheated to 1100℃ and 900℃ by 1200℃ of flue gas from furnace, temperature of exhaust gas is reduced to below 180℃, so as to save energy and reduce consumption.
3. Melting: if liquid sodium silicate is needed, the solid sodium silicate can be melted into liquid. There are two ways to melt, the water-cooled solid is melted by the rotary melting tank, and the air-cooled solid is melted by static melting tank.
